There has to be Gravitational Potential Energy (GPE) for there to be Kinetic Energy (KE). GPE is off the ground movement that is being stored inside the object until the object falls. For example, a rollercoaster on the highest point ready to go down the big hill would be GPE. Also, an apple that is being ready to be picked and a leaf ready to fall in Autum. KE is a falling motion. Examples may be the rollercoaster going down the hill, The apple being picked and the leaf falling to the ground. My opinion is that their is as much GPE as KE because their has to be GPE for their to be KE. Once their is KE, GPE starts all over again. This is why I think there is as much GPE as KE!
